i've been wearing my mother's wedding ring on a chain around my neck. it doesn't fit any of these appendages i have. such small fingers she had. sometimes in my dreams they'll appear, only one and never together. him more than her, which is why i wear the ring on a chain. i'm waiting til my brother is old enough to give my father's away. for now, i keep it safely in velvet purple pouch.
sweet dreams.

but when you're tired, if you're quiet, you'll hear me singing you to sleep.
