Ah, school. First two days of classes went as well as they could go I suppose. I think it's going to be an interesting semester as far as that goes. It seems that film and philosophy are going to be the best two classes, with respect to history as well, but I don't enjoy classes with 350+ people, but that's to be expected. At least discussions are relatively small in comparison. Back to film class, I'll start with saying that it's called Cinema, Sex, and the City. Now, it doesn't look at the TV series Sex and the City, but rather it looks at cinema as it changed during the break of the 20th century until around 1920 with the introduction of make-up and well, of course, sex. It takes a look at both urban and rural standpoints as well as heterosexuality and homosexuality in films. It will certainly be an experience. And philosophy, well, the teacher just seems so jazzed about the subject. It's his passion I have no doubts on that, which is great, right? But no one else in the class seems as thrilled to have that as I do. People want the easy way out. I say, give me a challenge.
On another note, I believe dance parties are a gift from God. Last night, I hurried back to Cola for said dance party after a cookout. I thought I was going to miss it, but that was certainly not the case. Walking around to the backyard, you get kind of nervous, and there's always that feeling of "which room is the dance room?" Oh, but it's so clearly pointed out. It's always right past the kitchen. So, we stand around the yard for a bit, and then it's time to dance. Ladytron and Deerhoof make for some great dancing. I can never get enough.
